| Fall Season's Winds |
Careful, careful, treading carefully is her trademark,
reading my mind as a seer, fleeting as a skylark.
Every Spring brings new hope and the spirit to fight,
then fades into a Summer dry with excessive light,
until the Fall winds come and it’s time to part
again... the end of a cycle or indeed a new start.
Can the “sky singer” listen to any reason
other than the surviving urge of the season?
Can the “sea eagle” speak through my mouth
while gliding the trade winds farther south?
How could birds of such different feather
flock together
after crossing each other’s paths in flight
and then agree in fair or stormy weather,
instead of passing unawares in the night ?
Headwinds always come, of the strongest force,
breaking the peace, bringing the remorse
of a different path never tried, never taken,
the daring step... missed and forsaken.
A ominous whiff of Winter, a time of cold and despair,
is swelling the waves and filling the air...
A time to face the truth and dread the price to pay,
a price too high to bear, a truth too hard to say.
Careful, careful, treading carefully is my new fate,
for restraint never too soon, for daring already too late.
